Can anyone suggest a Dummy's Guide to cropping your photos ready for printing correctly as I just can't seem to get it right

Thanks

What exactly do you mean? and what software are you using?

All I do is select the aspect ratio of the print, drag to get the area I want, thenresize to the print size at 360ppi.

This guide may help.

I'm using Elements but last night I used Picasa to crop them as I couldn't get Elements to open :(

I used the 10x15 ratio crop but seems it was wrong for an 8x6 print

these are the options I have:

5x8
9x13: small print
10x15: large print
13x18
20x25
A4: full page
Square: CD cover

and then some for viewing on DVD

Thanks for the link craikeybaby, I'll have a read of that this evening at home

Yes, but last night I couldn't use Elements as it wouldn't open so I had to use Picasa so in case it happens again or I need to quickly crop something on another computer, I would be using Picasa

I've not used Picassa, but none of those aspect ratios are suitable for a 4:3 ratio print (as I'm sure you've worked out already).

It seems a bit strange that you can't choose it!

Picasa3 has an option for a 4:3 crop.
You may need to scroll down a bit more

:bang: I assumed that was for DVDs

Thanks Suvv, been having one of those blonde weeks :D
