I made this for my best friend as his wife as their wedding present a year ago but recently had some time to re-do certain areas I wasn't happy with .All the shots used in this short film are still images taken by the photographer on the day. With the huge rise in social media this could be a good way to showcase your special day to Uncle Horris and Aunt Esmerelda in Canada, who couldn't make the big day.

If there are any wedding photographers out there who have some feedback or views on this style of video, please let me know them.

Thanks for taking the time to view.

the first 'sepia tint drawing' that opens the video, the bride looks like she has at least 6 chins and a comedy tache, which plainly she doesn't looking at the later pictures. Might need to look at that again possibly?

TBH, I don't like it, it was too slow, too twee and the picture zoom/rotate effects made my eyes go funny. However, I can see some people loving it as an alternative way to view their wedding photographs. Sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear, it is just my humble opinon :)

agree about the line drawing on that first image. The 3D effect of the photos is stunning anf the seepia/tinted processing is graet. Too much scratches, orb -like things etc going on in the vid though (for me).

:plusone:  that opening photo has gotta go

Some very nice editing and I love the 3D effect type thing that you have done, but I have to say it started to get a little bored after the four/fifth image

Sorry to say I agree - I flicked through the last few. Like the 3D effect but trhe opening image needs work.

Nice to be different though

Thanks for the comments, yeah I noticed the similarity between the cartoon bride and Shriek's wife, I will change the opening and maybe shorten the duration to around three minutes. I just wanted to know if wedding togs think customers would be into this kind of media as an add on to their still pics. Obviously everything is changeable and can be edited in all manner of ways to personalize the film. I went for a classic, standard kind of look with this film and understand that it isn't to everyone's taste.

Again, thanks for the honest feedback, it all helps to tailor the final project.

I do agree with some of the comments above, however a little work and it can only get better, it seems long to us but for the persons who are involved would be more appreciative.
Some of the cartoon/sketch images are a little over the top, but then it is different from the norm everyday stuff we see.
If you were presenting the happy couple with the norm you could always present them with this idea and see what they think. I like it just because its different.
Is this part of the software included in Vimeo or is it some software you use on your PC ?.

The 3d effect is created in After effects by splitting the original still into layers in PS and then animating a virtual camera around the image adding a sense of depth to it. It takes some time to complete and you can find other examples of this kind of work here or on my website. I do agree with the cartoon effect being a little ott, I think I got carried away as you do when editing, which is why I value honest feedback from you guys on here.

Many thanks again.......

Just a quick opinion. I think this could definitely be something that could work as an additional keepsake of the wedding. I would agree that the pacing of this was a bit slow for a general audience, but the wedding couple would probably be a bit more patient.

I liked the use of the sketch look, the 3D and the old photo album look. You could try just using them a bit less, more chosen moments. Sometimes that helps with the pacing and you still get the different look. All in all, though, I think people would probably pay money for something extra like this that they could put up online and send everyone a link to watch it.

I think the concept & creativity behind it is great, just needs a bit of tweaking. Good luck.

Obviously the bride and groom aren't known to anyone here so the interest of the film is easily lost. As I said everything is fully editable and the pace and mood of the film can be set by the b and g before editing starts. As Im not a wedding photographer Im unsure how to go about getting this off the ground. I will make some changes to the existing project and then re-post here and if there are any wedding togs out there who think this would be a good addition to their existing package, please pm me.

I think it is a bit naff but that is my choice and echo the thoughts about the 1st image.

Nice music....where have I heard that before...........
