I was talking with a guy who worked at Ilford about three months ago regarding film availability, and he told me that there was actually more demand for black & white film now than there was about two or three years ago. Ilford has no intention of ceasing production of film or paper/chemicals.

He also gave me this link which dates back to 2007, but still holds good today:

Forgive me if this article has already been posted previously.

interestingly i'm moving into doing more film work again, i was totally digital for around 6 years until this last year where returnign to college i've been back int he darkroom and working with 5x4 (just bought a MPP :) ) and absolutely loving it, totally invigorated and my work, IMO, is better for it.

I like that some pro film shooters are using digital as their "polaroid".
The idea to proof the lighting and composition with digital, but make the final image, the finished product on film is.....entertaining
Everyone starting to shoot film from a digital base, all ready does this, the first thing we haven't got, to shoot a first roll is, a lightmeter.
So from pros with 40 film years under their belts right down to beginners, they all shoot digital as proofs for the finished article that is film.

:)
