A bit windy in Scotland last night

Wild in edinburgh last night about 1-2am apparently more to come tonight!

Fence posts a bit loose, wheelie bins all over the place but not too bad damage wise in Glasgow east. That was a proper 'hoolie' last night.

Gotta post this again!

A neighbours wheelie bin took out part of my fence as it went flying down the road

Just spoken to @gumbo-67 and they are without power and roads blocked in Farr (Inverness-shire) after the winds last night, but otherwise fine.

We had 47mph at midnight which is the fastest we've had since the weather gizmo was installed around 4 years ago.

We were plagued by power cuts everytime it was over 30mph. Bought a generator last year and you can probably all guess how many cuts we've had since.

The road North to Caithness was littered with fallen trees today, the Berriedale Braes were like a battlefield. I lost part of the garage roofing felt and the porch light on my back door but I expected worse.

It is pretty windy down here now. Enough to scare the children and for us to take note and double check what we've got outside. I can't begin to imagine what it must have been for our northern friends.

I am in Clydebank and waoh yeah it was windy.
in to Glasgow tomorrow for beers.

At least it'll clear the crap off the streets in Glasgow

There is more crap now including lots of branches and bin contents... But my car is finally washed clean and it saved me a whole £2 for the car wash. Result!

we had it light compared to some 24 hours without power and roads blocked due to trees down so couldn't get to work. no damage to house but have seen lots of damage i feel blessed to be honest.

It was causing a complete nightmare for me. My house is situated slap bang in the middle of a small valley and the wind was going across the two mountain tops. With the way the wind was and the shape of the hills they caused it to accelerate, not so nice for my sleep but no damage done. I'm normally a heavy sleeper but wasn't last night.

Not that windy here just now although the snowflakes are like Quavers.

It is bloody horrendous down here, that could be something to do with last nights chicken madras though.

Lets just hope that it doesn't get up again and it drifts in that case!

Just dark, grey and miserable. I'd love to get up to the snow and get some nice landscapes in. Otherwise its true detective for tomorrow...

A bit like me going past in my car, but slower....;)

It's not really settling around here apart from on higher ground.
Not like a couple of years ago lol
b****r!
thats what you call a couple or so inches!
I love the "new road lay out" sign

Where abouts are you? Had a wee bit today but most of what you see in the pic is drifting from the high winds.

This is what I got woken up to. They hung around all night, probably for their random feed now and again lol, they're a bunch of big teddies.

We have some strong winds last night here in the south, lost a window in the top shed and had two freaked out dogs. Would be nice to get some snow though instead of constant rain :(

We had lots of snow yesterday then the wind and rain came and it has all gone. Very windy again today and snowing again...

Its forecast to snow like buggery down here tonight... that should be fun as the gentle road in and out of the valley is shut presently so theres only the nice steep one to use. Thats always assuming i can get out from home of course

Very pretty - but not what I want .

We are having snow showers in Glasgow at present - light , wet but goodness knows how it will develop

A quick snap through the windscreen on the Ullapool road yesterday.

Looks like the stretch along Glascarnoch Hugh, and a bit surprising for a trunk road that should be getting gritted for the buses and ferry? Good job you weren't getting the 100mph gust that was recorded there last week!

Its been an interesting spell of weather on Skye. No power on friday after the 110mph gusts, mine came back on after 20 hours but for many others it was 48 hours without. I had no storm damage but lots of houses have lost large parts of their roof, caravans and sheds destroyed too.
Uig hotel lost half of its roof I was told.
Now we have the snow, thank heavens for winter tyres or I doubt I'd have got home from work yesterday without incident.
More gales forecast for thursday/friday although 'only' 70 mph this time so just a good drying day :p

Here's the view at Cluanie this morning
