4 today,

- - Y - -,
- - G Y - -,
Y Y G - -,
G G G G G.

Can I just point out that both these formats give a lot of potential spoiler info?

I don't ever look on here until I have done it but others might!

A lot? I couldn't see how it would help, hence me using it. However, if you think it does, I'll stop.

Only that it gives positions as well as right and wrong ... your choice though. :)

I hope mine don’t. At one time after I had fairly recently discussed my starter I think they did but I’ve since changed my starter to something very different and the letters make two valid words so I swap about.

However if anyone thinks they spoil I’ll change.

I don't think it's a biggy either way tbh, although I can see Heather's point about the spoiling potential. I've been trying 'my' new format this last few days but I'm happy to revert to the old way. (y)

Me neither but it’s an interesting question. I don’t think so, not with any certainty, but once you know the answer to ”today’s” game it is possible to work back and have a pretty good idea of that person’s starter for the day and, if he/she uses the same starter, doing it for a few days should identify it.

A lot of work for little advantage other than to prove a point!

If I could remember a good starter, I might keep using it!!! I used to have one written on a post it but the post it fell off. :(

Curious coincidence but my post, above, (ie #7778,) won’t “fall off”, it keeps reappearing as a draft in this thread which I select, remove, repost and cancel the warning, which usually works but when I come back, as now, there it is again.

I guess I‘ll have to repost it and then delete it???

How are you deleting the draft? On my (Wndows laptop) screen, there's an icon that looks like a floppy disc just to the left of the Preview button. Click the little arrow and I see 2 options - hitting the Delete draft option successfully disposes of it.

No there’s nothing except greyed out beside the preview button on iPad. I‘ve just posted the tedious prucedure on the POTN thread! It’s select all text including any quote, cut it, back space to remove posters name, post the empty post and cancel the error pop up!!!

Otherwise select [ ] in the drop down by the preview, select and cut — or there’s a drop down to delete or save draft available then which I haven’t tried.

Didn't notice yours, but it is the same as the other two ...

Ah, iPad - there's your problem!!! If you have access to a computer rather than a tablet, maybe you could sign in, delete the draft and Robert might be a parent's sibling...

I do have “computers” (both Mac and (ancient) Windows (though what do you think an ipad is if not a computer!) but choose to use an iPad. I also have an iPhone and Android phone though I can't think I’d want to read TP on it except in dire circumstances

It's not a computer as most people would define it.
In my book, if it gets desktop pages as default, rather than the lite versions, it can be a computer. :D

A proper keyboard rather than a touchscreen is where I think the line is, although this laptop has a touchscreen as well! This (and other) site(s) seem to have more functionality when using computers rather than tablets/phones.

You can use a “proper” keyboard with an iPad if you wish.

I don’t really get that. FWIW I usually choose desktop on the iPad where there’s a choice on the other hand you could be using a Mac/PC/ Linux all day without seeing any web pages, possibly for ever if you were using it exclusively for, say, writing a book.

Do you have the Delete draft option in desktop mode on the ipad?

A calculator is a computer. So, arguably, is an abacus.

As I‘m sure you know a “computer” is a woman* who does calculations when the term originated  . We’ll have to get Wiki or a dictionary to arbitrate. However, I think many argue a digicam is a computer that takes pictures.

* I think they were all women.

I don’t see a choice for desktop/mobile here but the display is not like that on my phone (just checked) so I assume it’s desktop. The answer is no Delete, except as mentioned above after several clicks from flat view.

4 today, by 3rd line of XOOOO there were 2 obvious words and I picked the correct one for once.
