A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

4 for me.

xxyxg, xgxgg, ygxgg, ggggg. I could see a couple of other options but wasn't sure they are acceptable words so went for the real one!

Hard mode stops you doing that. The purists might say it's a bit of a cheat but................ it also stops you 'starting again' with a completely new word so swings and roundabouts

3 here. As I often do, I chose my starter because of something I'd been looking at. This morning, somewhat unexpectedly, it gave me...

xyyyy. I could only think of 2 options and of course, I chose the wrong one to start with!

5 for me this morning.

xxyyy was a promising start but didn't really improve with a yyyxx second try (same letters). I was pretty sure that I had those letters placed correctly and one or possibly 2 of the others. Half right! xgggg. 2 options left so, of course, I went for the wrong one with guess 4... Never mind, a solve is a solve!

Frustrating Five today, much like yours. Good start probably left few words:

BOXXO XOOXO XOOXO XOOOO left I think nothing but OOOOO.
 
And another 4 for me today a good start gave me 3G and my second guess gave me 3G 1Y effectively 4G leaving only two words I could think of and this time I zigged rather than zagged so 4G, 5G,
 
I'm early! Not a word I use often!!! A 4today.

And another 4 today seem to be on a bit of a run at the moment 3Y, 3G, which narrowed it down to a handful of words, then it was just letter elimination and guessing 3G, 5G.
