5 for me too. Blanked with guess one, xyxxy, xyyxg (mainly new starter), ygygg (chose the wrong option - what a surprise!!!) which made the solution a no brainer.

3 for me. My starter got me yxyxx which converted to an xggyy with the 2 ys reused. A second or 2 of mental prestadigitaion (or should that be prestasynaptation?!:P) threw up the solution.

Well done Brian, 4 for me.

I'd love to know what your opening word was?

Slogged to 5 today. My starter was fairly useless, 354 possibles after says WORDLEBOT.
BXXXX XXBXO XOXXO OOXXO OOOOO

Took all 6 this morning 1G, 1G 2Y, 3G after which I narrowed it down to a handful of words, most of which I would call uncommon but I got there before I ran out of guesses 3G, 3G, 5G.

Oh dear, a fail today! I hate this game ;)
When I got in 5 I thought I was lucky and that it could easily prove difficult depending on luck of choices.

5 for me too. Like Jan, I thought it was spelled differently but I now know that either is acceptable (in real English as well as whatever they speak across the pond!)

xxxxg, xxxxg, xxyxg, gxxgg, solve.

3 today. Rather pleased with myself as I had a blank first line which contained two vowels so I used a second guess with a word containing the other three vowels which left, according to WORDLEBOT only one possible word despite looking unpromising.

XXXXX XXOXB OOOO

Also WORDLEBOT praised my second guess, first time that’s happened. Praised by a machine!

After 2 blanks, I got the middle letter right. Took some pondering to dig the solution out of my internal lexicon!
