4 again today, very much like yesterday 1G, 1G, 1G followed by lots of head scratching trying to make words with what was left, could only think of 3-4 and went for the most obvious again with the same result 5G.

5 today, I kept getting Y's and I used a grey twice before realising!!

This has happened to me a couple times when I try to solve it soon as I wake up - I was proper puzzled one time, scratching my head as to what 5 letter words began with 'i' - 3 goes in it dawned on me that the I was yellow

Yes, perhaps I should drink coffee first thing in the morning ;)

Blimey you lot. I was quite happy with my 5 initially.
I can’t speak for the others but in my case once I’d got a particular couple on letters on second go there were very, very few words that would fit.

Wordle Weekly Recap

Hardest word: BOOZE, from Monday, Sept. 12.
Average guesses: 4.74, with 7.51 percent solving in three or fewer.
Easiest word: THEME, from Friday, Sept. 9.
Average guesses: 3.85, with 34.23 percent solving in three or fewer.
The Wordle answers this week — Sept. 8 to Sept. 14 — were easier than last week.

I seem to remember people here did find BOOZE hard -- I remember rejecting it at one point as to British.

We would never tell you how to play — by all means, you do you — but a look at The Times’s user data from June 15 to Aug. 22 revealed that if you don’t have a favorite starting word, you’re in good company. Most of the other players don’t either.

Among the tens of millions of people who played the game during that time, only 28 percent of players with more than 10 games under their belts used the same starting word consistently. (“Consistent” was defined as using the same word 90 percent of the time.)

The favorite starting word among players during that time was ADIEU, the French word for “farewell.” It was used by an average of 5 percent of users each day, which still included millions of people. And even after a June 22 CNET article discouraged using ADIEU — because its abundance of vowels may interfere with the chance of getting some good consonants — it was still one of the top five guesses.

7 today! I changed my start word and turned off “hard” mode, maybe not a good idea ;( It is an unlikely word I guess. :(

First attempt since getting home and a resounding fail!!! 4th guess had 4g and the last guess of mine was the wrong one.

Well after a good run lately lucky 6 today 2Y. 2G 1Y, 3G 1Y as good as 4G so had the first and last two letters after 3 but it took me to 6 but it could have been anything, 4G, 4G, 5G.
