It’s a hard one if you get some combination of letters but easy (or at least only a few possibles) if you get some others.

It's all about getting that first guess as good as you can.

SCORDLE says there are 4 possibles after my second (a popular breakfast item ;)) but 3 of them are not words as far as I’m concerned, though one is also a proper noun so would be excluded anyway, so realistically only one choice and that a word never used here nor in much of the USA I think.

Also 104 after my first is unusually small, I think.

4 for me. Pure luck since I was only trying the solution to see if there were any odd letters in the final answer!
 
Wow! first 6 in a while here! I was literally making up words after 4th guess, many a jiggle, which turns out to be a good thing as if they were actual words I'd have lost this round. Not a very common word in our regions, only got it in the end because I had exhausted every other possible with only 10 possible letters left
 
Another 5 toady 2Y, 2Y, 1G 1Y, 3G, 5G. Note to self, must remember that it an American site.
 
5 for me too. 3ys on the first guess, one more with a totally fresh second, a total blank with another new guess, 3ys and 1g for the fourth and a solve on the fifth.
 
3 today could have just as easily been a 2 or a 5, 3G on the first guess narrowed it down to only a few words I could think of so used my second guess on the word that eliminated the most and obviously it wasn't that one. 3G, 3G, 5G.

It’s another lucky/unlucky one (perhaps they all are ㋡ ). SCORDLE gives only 73 and 8 on 2nd & 3rd guesses which is unusually low.

4 today 3Y, 4Y, 3G 1Y, 5G, for a change I chose the the less obvious word from the ones I could think of after my second guess but at least it only left me with one option.
 
3 for me. 2ys on the first guess, 2 more on a totally different second guess and a minute of thought.
