A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

4 for me. I suspect I may have made the same wrong choice as Jak!
 
4 today.
 
I try to vary my first guess every day, using as many vowels as possible. Today's choice was not a good one :LOL:.

Although, by the time I'd got to the 4th guess, I'd eliminated 13 letters and got 2 right but in the wrong place.

Trust me, this is how my luck goes.:LOL:

Come to think of it … it would be a challenge to get 6 words with no correct letters, not re-using any used letters of course. Rather more difficult than finding the correct word :thinking:

I used to do that, however OA&E are the commonest vowels in the WORDLE list so I changed just to use those first — is it a kind of cheating though :thinking:
 
5 today slightly better start than Dale but only just 1Y, 1Y, 1G 2Y, 3G 1Y, 5G.

Not really. If anything, it could almost be counterproductive and by using the I and U in a first guess could be a better tactic. Might try QUIZY tomorrow!!!

My go mainstays are , tears and opium. Lynch is also quite usefull.
I use those 3 as my openers in Quordle.

I used to use AEONS but now use OATER.

The commonest letters in the word list, according to the ”web” are EAROT in order of frequency of occurrence. Each appears in around 50%.
 
4 today without much brain stress

I used to use the same few starters, did have a good run with them for a bit - Plies/Pries/Pleas or I'll mix it up and go with the first words I like that pops into my head. Those P words have not been good for me lately [ironically one would have been pretty good very recently] so I am much more random start now

Back to the usual 4 today
I have one go-to starting word, then another if the first draws a complete blank as it did today, but the fall-back word netted 2Y. 3rd attempt YGYGx and there weren't many options left. I had to change my start word when the one I was using came up 5G. I have a feeling I can only get that lucky once :D

3 today, not many possibles after 2nd and lucky guess on 3!
