A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

4 for me today………

As for my “revelation” from yesterday - it was that I was wondering how it would be represented if the same letter appears more than once in the word - if your guess has the letter in the right place will there be any indication that you’ve got the right letter in wrong place too? Or does it avoid words that have the same letter in them more than once so that this isn’t an issue?
Answer (if anyone cares :) ) is that there will be words like that - yesterday’s was “robot” and it doesn’t mark the “wrong” position in any way if you’ve got the ”right” one in place……. (not sure there’s a way to show this TBH)

I found that if you put a guess in with a double letter it will show either green or yellow for both or black for one if there is only one in the word.

Yup - now that I know it may have double letters I’d expect to see that in a guess. Yesterday I got to RO??T after my 5th guess - the O was right but was it doesn’t say is that you could also view the second O as being a “right letter - wrong place” result.
Isn’t a real biggie - was just something I’d wondered about what would happen if that situation existed - an yesterday I found out :D

Well another 4 today bad first guess 1G but a good second 4G.

Was my first thought for second guess ... which is why mine was 3 today, not 2!
 
Got it in 3, had 4 green on 2nd try and it was kinda obvious from there, though still surprising :D
 
3 today. 2Y, 2G, BINGO!!! (And that's NOT a spoiler!!!)
 
If tomorrow is Bingo, gggrrrrr :)

Ok, I'm a bit proud of this one, got in 3. Looked doomed from 1 but 2nd guess tore it up

Had green on end on 1, got very lucky on 2 with G on start and end and Y in centre
 
4 again today - had 3 likely candidates for the 3rd guess with only needing to get the right first letter so was just a case of the odds of getting it right first time - which of course I didn’t :D

5 today, a bit tricky!

1Y +1G, 1Y + 1G, 3G, 3G, finally 5G :banana:
 
3 today ... 2Y, ... 3G, ... Cracked it ... pure luck :p
 
Trickier for me today: 2Y, 1Y, 2G+1Y, 4G, 5G. I was 50:50 on the initial letter on the 4th try and guessed the wrong way. I blame David Davis.
 
4 for me today. 2Y, 1G, 2Y + 1G, inspiration! I knew where 1 of the Ys had to be so treated that as a G and went through most of my vocabulary to see what fitted!
 
Bit of a struggle but got there in 6, 2Y+1G, 1Y+2G, 3G, 3G, 4G, 5G.
 
And again it’s a 4 for me today…….

6 - last gasp saloon for me today:
1G, 1G, 2y + 1 G, 1Y + 2G, 4G ... bingo
 
3 today and yesterday. First one didn't get a letter right. Luck draw on 2nd. 3 in wrong place
 
Back to my normal 4 today, 1Y, 1G 1Y, 2G 1Y, 5G.
 
3 today. 2G, 2G + 2Y, Robert is a parent's sibling!
 
4 today. Not bad for first one.

You got today's in one go?? considering the word, that's some far out thinking, not a word that would ever immediately spring to my mind at least. In 15 games I've not had a 1 yet, that would be just pure mad luck, the skill is in the figuring out after some fails.

Apparently there are 158,390 five letter words in the English language so I doubt you will do it again. If you do it once a day on average it will take 217 years to guess it one go.
Did you do the lottery this weekend too?
