4 for me. yxxxg, xxxxg (new word other than the g), xxygg then the solution.

As long as you are signed in it shouldn’t make any difference which device/browser you use.
 
4 today. Only 1 possible after BBBOX at 3rd.
 
4 for me too. xyxxy then a completely new word gave me xyyxx. A 3rd new word was a total blank but did rule out 5 letters so reduced the options considerably. Could only think of one word to fit and that guess was right!
 
3 this morning! 3G on my first run, 4G on my second :)
 
A 3 today 1Y, 2G 1Y, after which I could only think of around half a dozen words that would fit and as usual I chose the one that would help the most, great when it works out 5G.
