hi all
I'm after some advice on flashguns and their interaction with ST-E2 heads and canon kits.
I normally shoot sport or gig photography when I've touched on anything commissioned, and so flash guns aren't always required.,.
however, i'm looking more at studio lighting. for this purpose though I'm normally actually in a studio. so I don't see the point of getting a full 2-3 light starter kit.
However, I've been roped into an event (prom type thing) later in the year.
I've done wedding type group shots before for a friend with two canon speedlites and softboxes, (indoor and controllable) and i'd like to do this event with a similar setup because I don't think that I can trail wires around the place
I was going to use:
camera 1 with two flashes remotely triggered.
camera 2 with a single onboard flash for candids.
I have a single 580exII at present
so my question was, if I get two cheaper 3rd party flashguns, which are actually okay, and which work fairly well with the ST-E2 trigger?
I've been looking at the yongnuo system.
bless the chinese market, but these look like they can work with an ST-E2 clone pretty well. I don't need ratio, etc.
has anyone used these or similar?
for power I can use battery packs, but I'd like something portable and with options for outdoor location lighting and back-ups for my other sports photography if needed.
feedback and suggestions appreciated. thanks
