The RMS titanic infront of the allure of the seas. This ship has 21 swimming pools and can hold 6400 passengers.

I know what one pleases the eye and it is not that thing that looks like a top heavy container ship.

I would love to do a cruise, but personally I couldn't think of anything worsethan being on a cruise liner of that size.

Or with that name TBH!

(Besides, I'd keep expecting Celine Dion to keep bursting into song, :D)

I'd spend the first week trying to find my room and the next trying to find the way out!

As somebody that's done a few cruises, if you enjoy great food and a new place every day, they're great.

Nice image btw....

I do like that image. Also tickles my srnse of proportion!

Titanic has been a hobby of mine forever

Would love a print of that for my study wall!

I was visiting Cork in 2011 when one of the big cruise liners arrived. Incredible size.

the whole concept of a cruise horrifies me... being stuck on a boat with several hundred people I would probably hate with no ability to say where when or how i do anything....

6,400 passenger!!!! That would be like having a holiday in a shopping mall, dodging and banging into people... Nah keep it..

As Lynton says, it's too much of a controlled environment

Same here bud. Not for me at all.

That is a very good comparison:thumbs:

And one of the reasons why I would not go on one.

I'd hate to be on a cruise liner in the 21st century. I would think the 3rd class in Titanic had a good deal more class than a lot of folks today....

:plusone: we did an Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon and will be sure to do another

Last cruise we did was a bit of a treat for my 50th Birthday. 14 nights in the Caribbean visiting 9 islands, and you're with different people every evening for dinner. You do get to meet some really nice people, you just have to have an open mind.

Watching flying fish, gannets and frigate birds while on your balcony was rather enjoyable...

I have done a couple of cruises [Med & caribbean], albeit on the old Ocean Village ships which were about 1600 passengers and 700 crew, so considerably smaller and very relaxed. You certainly didn't feel like you were confined and living under 'rules'. I would happily do another if I could find one that was as relaxed but adult only too - I should say that for people with kids, they were brilliant, mine were young the first time and we simply never saw them for 2 weeks, so much entertainment. Waking up in a new place every day was great experience both times. The second one, back in 2009, because I knew the layout of the ship, I chose a cabin right at the back, next to a rear sundeck where the adults without kids tended to hang out, a couple of decks above the 24 hour eat all you can restaurant so when we weren't out visiting the latest caribbean island, we could relax and enjoy ourselves, just reading, watching the sunset as the ship sailed out of port, with food close at hand.

In reference to the photo, on both trips, we docked several times with other cruise ships that were absolute mammoths, but I never managed to get a photo that showed the size difference the way that one does.
