I'm corrently looking for a bag that will store 2 bodies, all the lenses and a laptop, but that's good to take out and about with me for weekends at a time (no always with the full kit though). I would like it to fit 2 bodies, 2 X 70-300mm lenses, 2 X shorter zoom lenses (18-70 and 18-55) 50mm, extension tubes, flash, cards and cleaning kit etc etc. I don't really have a budget, but I'd not want to spend much more than £100-150. I'd also like the facility for the bag to carry a 15 or 18 inch laptop and strap a tri-pod/mono-pod to. The Tramac Expedition series look good, but there's no laptop option, I spoke with a guy in Jessops yesterday and he said that Crumpler did one like I was looking, but I couldn't find anything on the Crumpler site. Any recommendations?

just recently got the Lowepro vertex 200AW, it is a rucksac type, got it for keeping all the gear in when going abroad as it is hand luggage size but really impressed with it.

it has a laptop holder which is on the back of the pack so not against your body (better for the laptop)

Don't use a laptop so can't report on that aspect, it has a pocket that fits the epson 2000P perfectly!

jessops sell it for £167 I think but got it for £99 including carriage on the internet.

Take a look at the Tamrac Expedition Series. I have just got the Expedition 7 and its huge. Takes a 17" laptop, with a huge camera/lens section. They also make larger on the series.

Not all the expedition series take laptops but I think certainly for the 7 upward do, and the 6 might. The 5 doesn't.

London Camera Exchange keep the Tamrac expedition range, Jessops keep the Lowepro vertex

It is well worth going to look at them to decide. I was convinced it was going to be the Tamrac expedition 6 but in the end didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

I really really wanted an Expedition 7 until I loaded it and tried it on - I quickly purchased a Computrekker Plus

The Expedition 7 (I don't know about others in the range) has the laptop compartment away from you making you rather back/top heavy whereas the Computrekker has it snug against your back which, when you have an old beast like my laptop, makes a heck of a lot of difference.

My bag takes:

350D gripped
30D gripped
18-55 with hood
75-300 with hood
85mm 1.8 with hood
30mm 1.4 with hood
10-22mm with hood
430EX II flash
external HDD with leads
laptop, which is about 15" x 10", with leads

I've still got enough space for a 100-400 or 300mm prime if I move some stuff around and re-organise

The best thing to do is find a shop that stocks them and try them out - its a very subjective decision
