Yesterday, a massive truck passed through Wolverhampton to deliver a 400 tonne transformer to Ocker Hill Power Station.

I was really lucky to get some of the first pictures posted online, as it passed my flat.

A local facebook group reposted my pictures and set and my statics went mental!

I'm really really pleased with that!

Has anyone else experienced similar before?

Tom.

Wow, I've never had anywhere near that, my all time views don't even come close!

The most I've ever had was 400 or so which all came in just after I had uploaded a set before I had even finished sorting them into sets and adding them to my map.

I had a similar thing happen a couple of times.

First one was from a Facebook page for this photo. Because it came from facebook it's very hard to work out who posted a link to it. Turns out it was Motionsport's own Facebook page. Only ended up with about 40 views in a day (don't laugh that was a lot for me!) :D

2nd time it happened I noticed my stats shot up, went to about 200 views in total, because of this image. That was a link from a Brazilian automotive blog about the Sauber C9.

The one thing I've found when something like this happens, is the graph for your Flickr stats will now be pretty much useless for the next month! :)

I know, I couldn't believe it either!

Lol bang on about my graph being useless. It's just a flat line - except yesterday, which was my second best of all time with over 1000 again... >.<

But congrats on some amazing views it's great when it happens :D

Nice one! Must be a pretty popular Facebook group. Id love to check my stats and see those kind of numbers there!

Cheers! :D

I was half expecting, being a forum full of toggs, that some people would be saying "pah, that's nothing"!...

Yes, Saturday night I ate some slightly dodgy chilli beef, by Sunday lunch....all hell had broken loose !, my stats went mental.

I can't recommend that experience though.

Flippin' typical. HUGE gert wagon driving on the wrong side of the road ... and not a copper in sight :(

Nice record of the event though

wow thats craz!! how fast was it going? bet it was moving real slow. Ive seen a few big things come out of Camal Lairds ship yard but only at night.

BTW love the photos on your flickr of the planes

Thanks man - I'm still new to aviation photography, so that's really nice to hear. :)

It was moving really slow - it took 12 hours to move it 10 miles, so less than 1mph!

Weird.

I just noticed I had sudden spike of nearly 6,000 views for this photo on the same day as the OP had his, July 22nd

In my case, it got picked up on the home page reddit.com.

I've had it on a couple of occasions where I got 5-6000 in a day to specific images.

I managed to catch stuff going on that had local interest and was newsworthy. The vast majority of hits came from Google, then the links got shared on the social media sites.

Good way to get noticed
Trouble is, if your thing is to shoot current affairs and the like its a great way to get yourself noticed but would it be beneficial to someone who shoots fine art to bang a load of reportage into their accounts to get views?
