Yes
Last night, whilst looking around a well known video sharing site I came across this series and thought I'd post about it for those who may be inerested.

I watched the Ansel Adams episode (in multiple parts, as they tend to be on said site) and found it to be very interesting. They're very much in the old style of BBC presenting which some may find "boring" but the content is intelligent and high quality. I could listen to Adams talk all day - his negative/print analogy is spot-on and his looking forward (with optimism, unlike Bailey) at the then emerging digital age was a surprise.

I won't post a link in case I infringe some copyright or other but they are easily found and well worth a watch.

Doh! Missed it!! Any other info so I can trace it and hopefully rewatch it on iplayer or something?

thanks for the tip

The episodes are on Youtube, usually split into four 10 minute segments.

Searching Youtube for "ansel adams part1" should find the first part, followed by ...2, ...3 etc.

The series (details can be found online) covers 6 photographers in total, and all episodes can be found on Youtube.

No problem. They are very much old-style interviews which won't suit everyone but you get to see a lot of their work and gain an insight into each photographer's life and approach to their art.

I find them fascinating and inspirational - the perfect antidote to upgradeitis and shineything syndrome! :D

Edit:

Here are the 6 photographers covered by the series, should make finding the videos easier. :) I've only heard of Ansel Adams but will work my way through them all. I think they were all quite senior in years at the time the series was made and are sadly probably all dead now.

Alfred Eisenstaedt
Bill Brandt
Andreas Feininger
Jacques-Henri Lartigue
Andre Kertesz
Ansel Adams
