No
cant remember how long it took last time when I ordered from 7DayShop, definitely not the fast bunch.
This time I ordered some battery on 2nd/Sept. Now it is 8th/Sept, still not arrive. Does it really have to take 7 days or longer? :cuckoo:

Gotta be a joke, right?

No, just read their T&Cs, 4-6 days ship from Guernsey. I ordered on Friday evening so shipped on next Monday so best arrival time will be this weekend in in any luck.
Need the damned ca123A battery for light meter on Sunday.
Should have used elsewhere

I ordered some new E4 batteries on Sunday, guess what?

I got them, already.

The prices are cheap for a reason, that being the service and delivery is crap. If you can wait or order in advance, not a problem. If you can`t wait, then don`t use them. Spend more elsewhere.

Cheap goods equal a cheap service, expensive goods SHOULD equal a good service, your choice.

aha

I can beat that, i placed an order on 30th Aug for 2 x LP-E6 batteries, 2 pack of Eneloop batteries and 4 plastic battery cases.

Yesterday i received the 2 LP-E6 batteries and today i received 1 pack of Eneloops, so i'm still waiting for the 4 cases and 1 pack of Eneloops :bang:

I have no idea why they send them in so many different packages

haha, I'm usually impatient with my deliveries but it's happened on a few ocassions that I've ordered from the FE and by the time it turns up I've already forgotten about it so it's like getting a surprise gift for myself :)

I know the feeling :D

It's a VAT thing, I ordered 15 DVDS from a company in Guernsey and got woken up by them hitting the floor one after the other as the postman hand-fed the individual packages one-by-one through the letterbox

Oh and I've been waiting a week for a couple more films from them, so here may well be a delay in the mail network with stuff coming from the C.I.

Never had that much of a problem. Most of the things I order arrive within a week or so. Don't use them if I'm in a hurry for it.

Yeah i know about the vat its just that they could have still put them in less packages and been under the vat/import duty level

The dvd's remind me of years ago i orderd all the Friends discs when they were split into 4 episodes per disc and were on offer at Play.com, i was on holiday when they were delivered so at some point the postie must have turned up with 30 odd discs

Ok just another reason why things might take a little longer to get to you guys than normal.
Here in Guernsey the airport is at one of the highest points on the island and we get alot of fog.

Fog= grounded planes
Grounded Planes= no post in or out.

Thats one reason the other is wayyyyy beyond my human calculations, I can order something from the mainland on say a tuesday and it will arrive wednesday, sometimes I can order something on a tuesday and receive it on thursday or even a friday and thats first class.

7day shop is a small little warehouse that from what I can see cannot carry huge amounts of everything they offer so another reason could be is that they have to wait for their orders to come in aswell, so like above if something is comeing by air to them then could well be fog bound too.

Hope this might help a little as to why sometimes you get things early sometimes and other times its slightly later than expected.

spike

P.S I am in no way connected to 7day shop in any shape or form, this is just my opinion as to why somethimes things might take a little longer.

I ordered a few bits too, some arrived within 7 days and two other items turned up on day 10. Not the fastest lot but they are cheap if you don't need the items asap.

Yeah the rest of my order still hasn't arrived yet :bonk:

My orders have always come through inside a week, and I've never found 7DS to be unreliable. I don't think they claim speed in delivery as part of what's on offer, but their prices are hard to ignore as a rule. Perhaps if you need things yesterday you could try asking for an uprated delivery service along with its attendant extra expense.

Remember - everything they sell is postage paid in the price, and in these days of crazy postage rates for anything bigger than a letter, that equals money in your pocket.

It's really quite simple. Rather than bash a reliable seller who gives better value than just about anywhere else but whose delivery might be slower than you'd like, get ready to shell out more and get the kit in your hand a bit faster.

You'll find your high street guys are no. 1 for that, but you will pay for that instant obtainability.

And just because the reason for the multiple package thing isn't immediately obvious to us, don't mean it's stupid - no successful business regularly incurs more expenses than need be or they'd soon cease trading.

Got my delivery on day 9, one day short of what I like to have them to be in place. I ended up finding one from high street.
Got to remember need to place order at least 15 days in advance to be on the safe side.

Used them about 5 times and although most orders do take around a week to arrive, I can't fault them.

If I need somthing quickly I would use a company on the mainland that offers next day delivery.

Ordered a petal lens hood and a CF card last Monday, arrived today. Their standard shipping is free so for the princely sum of about £9 delivered for the two I cant really complain.
