Yes
I sent my 7D back to Canon at Elstree for a mode dial replacement.

Just got it back and I'm pretty impressed, it's locking knob is flush with the top of the dial and can easily be pushed down with your index finger while rotating the dial with the rest of your hand.
A very worthwhile mod as far as I'm concerned, it was one complaint I (and others) made re the 5 and 7D bodies.

Cost? Here's the breakdown.

Replacement mode dial set-£30.38 labour £34.20 despatch £5 all plus vat total £81.76.

Hope that helps,

George

Got a cheaper quote at H Lehmann £60 + VAT.

Yea, sometimes that seems to happen, I wanted it done quickly before Christmas and felt that Elstree would have stock....although the UPS overnight shipment took 4 days...weather was the excuse!!

Just been quoted £70 + vat from Lehmann and 3 days, so that's a 16% hike in a short period of time. Obtained a cheaper and quicker quote elsewhere.

Whether £80 or £60 whilst a nice feature to have I don't think it's worth spending that much to get it done from where I'm standing.

Some questions on this, if anyone can help:

Where's the cheapest place to get this done?
Any chance that it can be done for free if under warranty?
Do Canon manufacture current 7D's with this feature or is it an optional add-on?
