7D Exposure Compensation help

Hi Guys,
Hep required with the above.
I can change the 'exposure compensation' via the "QUICK SCREEN" but when I try with the rear main dial (after holding the shutter button half way) nothing happens.
Are there any camera settings I need to alter?
Any help much appreciated.
 
Hi its a while since i used the 7D but i think you set it via the custom menu settings ,ie set wheel for EV ,no doubt someone with a 7d will come along soon to help.
 
The setting is on custom settings as Den said. C.Fn1v.1.

Silly question....you haven't got the switch on the lock position have you?

When I select :- Camera function 1V.(operation others)
Then 1. jog down to 'rear dial' then set:-
=AV. press set, the choices are. Av Tv Af point direct
I can't see a choice for Exposure Compensation
Sorry for being a numpty
