Recently purchased a 7D mainly for video but discovered that recording for 20+ minutes results in overheating. Why and how can I resolve this?

It's a very common problem in DSLR video as far as I know. The sensor just gets incredibly hot. It is one of the reasons you often can't shoot in a bulb setting on small-sensor compacts because the sensor gets burnt out quite quickly.

When I was shooting on a 5dmkII it got very hot but I would try and keep it off as much as possibly to allow it to cool down in-between takes.

How do I know what the maximum time is possible in build mode for my 7D?
