7d coming tomorrow

I buy my gear from either Panamoz or Hdew and both are excellent vendors. Fast delivery, reliable and above all Honest. I'm gutted for you that the camera isn't as nice as you were hoping, but if you do buy another then I would say either buy new from either of the above, or from someone on the forum. I've bought a few things off the guys on here, and sold a few things too, without any problems whatsoever. The gear I've bought has looked as good as new and worked perfectly and so has the gear I've sold. Good luck either way you decide to go, but if you do go for a new one at least you have a good warranty.

I was looking at Panamoz and Hdew and as I posted earlier I nearly hit the add to basket whilst negotiating with our Mel
When i get my next Mid life crisis in 3 moths or so I will probably be on the hunt for a 5d mk3 lol
I have just sent the seller on ebay a message we'll see what he says
what's the betting it begins with F and end in F, I'll post up his website then.

I notice on the listing he says he bought the grip as increases the frames per second. It doesn`t. ;)

Exactly what I was just looking at!

Bless him he must be getting confused with his old film days when a grip usually did increase the fps. :)

Did the seller pay for Saturday delivery? Otherwise it'll be in Monday's post

Depends where you are. If I have something posted to me RMSD on friday it will always arrive saturday.

All RMSD parcels posted on Friday arrive at your local sorting centre in time for a Saturday delivery even if you did not pay the extra for Saturday, it is then up to the branch whether or not they pack it in the van for delivery.

as confused as the description of the camera itself
update from my ebay after message of complaint to him this is the reply :-
"Hope you are well. Apologies about the cf card must have got it mixed up in the other 7d box (I am selling another 7d). I will post it early next week no probs.
I take exception to what you describe the camera as being "well worn and battered". It is an 18 month used camera but I think it is in good to very good condition.

If you can email me pics where it is as you have described.

Thanks

David "
would you like to see some pics I have taken of the battered 7d with my Mint 600d

I would be very careful what you say to him as you have not got a leg to stand on seeing as you bought it privately, who knows he may be a reasonable bloke and refund you but not if you refer to the camera as being "battered" which to be fair it is not.

He is after all asking you to send pics, if he was a totally unreasonable bloke he would have told you where to go!

That is definitely not VGC!! I would say how disappointed you are not in a contentious manner as going in with all guns blazing will get you nowhere, but in a polite straight to the point manner, as I sad previously he may be a reasonable chap and refund you.

What may be more acceptable to him could be an arrangement where you keep the 10-22 and agree on a reasonable refund for the body.

You have to tread very carefully on this one Tony as he has the upper hand despite the proof of the photographs.

I do feel sorry for you.

Hang on a second the camera in the ebay ad does not have those dings, may be worth bringing that up. Does look as though it's been dropped.

I'd call it battered
clearly our interpretation of well look after is different to the vendors
clearly been dropped a few times
my old eos 1000f is also immaculate and minty mint and that went to the other side of the world with me a few times when we were racing in the 80's and 90's

Julian, well spotted!! Tony he said he had two he has sent you the other one!!

when he told me in the message I posted earlier that he had two I did reply that perhaps you sent me the wrong one by mistake.
I am a very trusting person Mel and judge people by my own standards
If I don't get an amicable outcome I may post it up for sale on ebay with proper pictures of the damage and condition with my honest description and a link to his ebay add
He has a good ebay feed back
No one likes being conned
The only thing he said on the phone was the original box was a bit damaged
well the box is acceptable and not that bad shame the same can't be said for the camera
It's all your fault Mel because you wouldn't accept my offer lol
So would you agree that my message describing it as battered was indeed correct Mel
Belting lens though

I think even Mel would agree whoever he is :D

Mal.

If only I had accepted your offer;)

Mal should have sold me his it's all his fault
perhaps he thought I was a messer when we were in deep intense negotiations
You fancy a px Mal straight swap

Gutted for you Tony, it looks like its been well kicked around, hope you get a good out come, and he does the right thing by you

Knobs dented, that's been dropped. Scrape marks to me looks similar to a car togs camera I saw once that had fallen from the rig whilst the car was moving.
It does say in the advert it was his no 1 camera so I'd expect heavy use and paint wear, not damage. As he's another it does make you wonder if he's pulled fast one with the private sale and kept the better one, because I can't see that damage on the ads image.

The wife blames me for everything so I may as well take the blame for this:D

with him being a pro photographer I wonder if anybody on here knows him
I'm sure no matter what, British law would be on my side if he hadn't actually supplied me the item that he advertised.
Perhaps a call to trading standards would confirm he is in effect in the trade and I am a mere member of the general public

That's normal for a wife and if you think she's bad now you want to experience an x wife.
There is nothing you can do that will please a women so the best thing you can do is to do nothing
So the consensus is that the item I have been supplied is not the item advertised that I purchased

Unfortunately it is one thing having the law on your side but another using it to your advantage.

There is recourse to the small claims court, but even if a judgement went your way, he may not cough up anyway and then it is down to you to take him to a county court.

I would say its definitely not the same as shown in the pics on ebay, you say you have his website addy, that should tell you what he does, and if he is a pro and to be honest I dont think he could have sent the wrong one by mistake either

For all we know he could be a member on here and reading every post!.

I suppose the seller could have sent the wrong one, maybe they had a senior moment, or maybe it was a colleague or family member who packed it... It could happen... The proof is in what happens next. If the seller provides a refund or a camera IVGC then they're honest, if not they're a scumbag.

Maybe I've just been unlucky but every one of the camera related items I've bought from private sellers on ebay has been wrongly described and/or damaged so I've given up and will not buy from private ebay sellers again.

OP - I hope you get this sorted.

I have only ever bought one lens off ebay, actually from a dealer and it must be the best example around of a Canon 200 f2.8 MK1 it looked as if it was new old stock complete with the hard leather case and outer box all in as new condition, date code G 1992!! I was offered more for it from MPB than I paid for it, however I would never buy anything else from Ebay despite being that lucky in my only purchase.

Not had any problems with any of the camera lenses and accessories that I have bought of ebay before just this transaction.
No further messages from the vendor
I shall give him till Tuesday then I shall be ringing him to see if we can come to an amicable settlement

So how exactly do I check the shutter count
I suspect it is extremely high judging by the wear on this camera
I was advised it was around 30k prior to purchasing

There is a program called eos info (astro jargon). Google that and follow installation instructions.

You simply need to connect camera with your pc/laptop and it will advise on shutter actuations

tried the astro jargon says no camera connected
when I launch it I get a whole host of errors listed and when forced to run I get the no camera connected
