M looking for a solution to keep this dry tommorow as i need to go out and photograph..... Any ideas ???

It depends where your going to photography really

By the sea (waters edge)? On a boat? In the sea?

I do a lot of big breaking waves/kite surfer shots & generally have my camera/lens inside a plain old Tesco's carrier bag with a hole cut in for the lens to poke through. You can buy waterproof covers of course, but carrier bags work for me ;)

It keeps the spray off the camera body & lens, but the filter on the lens does get covered in spray so I clean if often whilst out photographing the above using disposable tissues

If you are going sea-side dont forget to give your kit a damn good clean once you get home ;)

I use the leg of an old wetsuit over my 400mm, waterproofs the lens, also provides extra impact protection (6mm thick)and insulates it from extreme cold which causes condensation. Oneday I will make a neoprene cover for the camera as well, may be good for keeping hands warm too!

Plastic bag? Cut holes in it? Or just around the camera body....

Is the 7d and 24-105 not a weather sealed combo?

I think there is a You Tube vid of the fella from digital rev using one in a typhoon (that's the weather version, not a jet fighter)

Simple answer NO

Only the 1D and certain L series lenses (not all of them) offer what canon call weather proofed. The rest of canon's range offer a degree of protection, but nothing I would want to put to any severe test like standing in the rain for a couple of hours
