if it's for wide angle, make sure you get a slim one or you'll get vigenetting any time you go wide!

It all depends on your budget .... but one thing is to avoid the cheap ones on ebay.

You could go with the standard Hoya, to the more expensive Hoya Pro1 .. Marumi are good too (easy to clean) .. Heliopan are a bit more expensive, but fantastic .. and then the ones on the top of the thrown are the B+W MRC, which will cost you close to £150 (if not a bit more).
 
Was looking at a B+W slim, but the chepest i can find it for is £155 ouch.
The Kood one i was sold with the lens starts to show vignette at 13mm, the UV filter just creates lens flair.
I had my doubts at the time of purchase but was assured that Kood made the glass for B+W and so it was the same filter :bonk:
 
And, of course, there's always the offering from Lee but you'll need the filter holder assembly as well so maybe a bit expensive.

Yep, must have changed their name, I typed hvstar into address bar and redirected me to maxsaver. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.

I got a slim sigma one and I've got no complaints about it at all. Seem to remember it was about £70.
 
Aye, hvstar have changed to maxsaver.
Notice on their front page informs of the change. For a moment there I thought I'd lost my favourite filter store!

Yes, when someone sent in a link to hvstar a few months ago, you got re-directed to a soft porn site! Perhaps that's why they changed their name?

Ordered a B+W 77mm Kaesemann MRC slim total was £105 includes delivery.
That £50 cheaper than any UK price.
Thanks for all the help, much more friendly in here than other Photo forums.
