So my usual 1.35M paper backgrounds are a touch small but a full size roll is just not going to work. I see there's a middle size but very limited colours, 3 or 4. Is it best to cut down a full sized roll and how would you do that, unravel it all?

Chop off the end with a hack-saw

I've been looking at this recently, and found this to be the best solution.....

"Cut to Size service

For an additional charge we can machine cut background paper rolls to size, just select the "Cut to Size" option before adding the roll to your cart. "
Thanks for this too. I had been looking on that site already at there car sized roles but like you say only 4 colours available.

I buy a lot of backdrops from here and have used the cutting service too. I usually only have a small bit removed but if you were going to trim it to say 2 meters it may be worth asking for them to send the cut-off bit too as it may be useful for something, maybe product photography or kids craft material?

Do they still send the other bit....?

"Due to the problems it causes with packaging we no longer supply the offcut with cut to size rolls, this also means that if you ask us to cut the roll in half we will only send you one half. "

:(

I've never asked for it but the box they use for the roll they send is re-sizable and they can obviously send a full length roll so I don't see what the issue is.

An oscillating saw does it in a couple of minutes too, best to cut the end off before you unravel it, while it's till nice and tight
