6D vs 5D MK II

Just made the plunge and swapped my 5D for the 6D - mainly due to the low light and ability to increase ISO to 6400 without issues. Fed up of the 5D melting at ISO 800. Be interested to hear if anyone else has done this and what your initial thoughts are?

Do you mean 5D mk 1 or 2? Because if you were getting images that bad at iso800 with a 5d 2 something was rather wrong.

I'm guessing he means 5D2 as that is the camera showing up in his flickr exif.

I have happily shot at 6400 ISO on my 5D2, here's a sample image below taken from inside a train shed.
6400 ISO gave me a 1/400 shutter at F4

Ive done a lot of low light photography in places like Norway - i've always found that over 800-1000 the shadows start to suffer. I've found a great number of other togs have suffered in the past. The 6D has no issues up to 6400 which is the reason for the purchase.....
