I'm ready for 52 photographs for 2017

It will be nice to use my GOOD camera again... I've been a little lax this year dragging it out of the closet. It's been so easy to just use my all-in-one Canon VIXIA HFM31 video/camera (it's an awesome workhorse)

For this weekly challenge I will be using my Canon EOS REBEL XT. Got a bunch of lenses and filters so I'm gonna try and use them too... This is just the kick I need... Hope I can make the whole year (fingers crossed)... We shall see :)

Thank you kindly.. you also.. This is my first challenge like this... I have a friend who will help me remember... That's the hardest part.... MAKING it part of my weekly routine. (fingers crossed)

I really like the DOF and the out of focus lights as someone else mentioned here, nice start.
 
Nice bit of bokeh there in the background Mary.
I'm not 100% you nailed the focal point. I can't decide whether the bulb in actually in focus or not.

Good Start to your 52 :)
 
Simple and festive start, if you have one with a shorter exposure I'd like to see a darker one.

This is a 'just for fun' challenge for me... I don't plan on making a million dollars on my photography... so please .. be kind to me :)

Nicely themed Mary - reflected overhead light in the bowls of the spoons and fork tines, is a little harsh. Maybe worth trying a white cloth separator to diffuse the lighting.
 
Is it Silver, or is it Sheffield though? (I have no idea).
Good deliberate use of angle to to avoid any perspective / verticals issues.
Does the bread? knife on the right add to the image?
