Hi I am looking to upgrade my 1000d to a 60d or 70d can you help with which one I should get and which good walk about lens to get

Seeing as the 70d doesnt exist yet, it would have to be the 60D.
 
Guessing you mean 7d. You would need to look at the functions/performance of the 60D and the 7D and work out which one fits your needs the best.
Another way of looking at it is write down what is the 1000D lacking and then see which gaps are filled by the 60D or 7D.
