If anyone can point me in the right direction for buying some of these, I'd be very much appreciative... stupid Elinchrom shaft size! :bang:

I feel your pain.. Westcott makes a whopping 2.2 meter size which seems nice. The tip of the shaft is 7mm and should fit Elinca heads. But at that size, you could use the extra brolly clip in the flash head mount to attach a normal 8mm shaft. For smaller brollies it's nice to have them centered more precisely but at 60" there shouldn't be much difference.

Aye, big pain getting! :'(

I had thought about doing what you mention, but I'm using the Ranger RX and that's not got an extra clip unfortunately, so without adding a umbrella bracket into the mix as well, which may make things a bit wobbly, that wouldn't be possible either, boo!

you'll be lucky to find one in 7mm, i ended up getting an 8mm and using the mount on the side of the strobe instead. It would appear that the 7mm ones bend when mounted as its too thin so most folk use 8mm.

Sadly I'm beginning to thing your right... bah! Guess I'll have to stick with something smaller.

Aye nice one thanks Kris :) I think I'll stick to the trusty brolly for now, although I'd like to try one of those parabolic jobbies at some point, maybe not as suited to location work though :)

They are a sail. Nothing outdoors whatsoever for my 86" - though more like a 75" across the face. Only the 160cm and under are 7mm mind at Viewfinder.

Makes a fantastic fill light from behind camera - like a really big ring!

The brolly shown at calumet is the wrong image - that is the 'ribless' design in the image. The standard 60" is a standard brolly design, convertible from shoot through to reflective.

Those Calumet jobbies are excellent. Lovely soft light and well made.

When using my big PLM, I usually just use two stands, and put a grip head on one to hold the umbrella.
