6 feared dead in Glasgow accident

Serious road accident right at the entrance to the busy Queen Street station involving a bin lorry and pedestrians. Heartfelt condolences to their families.

Just missed that by 1/4 hour after doing some Xmas shopping.

Such a terrible thing to happen especially at this time of year.

I was driving home through the area around that time. The number of ambulances rushing to a scene was not a promising indication. My thoughts are with the affected families.

Couldn't have happened at a worse place or time in Glasgow for a lorry to go out of control. In one of the busiest places in the city at one of the busiest places.

And it was only last month that there was the first Anniversary of the Clutha bar tragedy when a helicopter fell out of the sky on the bar - and again there were many deaths and injuries

The people of Glasgow are hardy folk and will survive - but this is so very very sad

It's now being reported that the family of 3 who died, were almost a family of four - the mother of the 18yr old had gone to an ATM and saw her daughter and parents being killed

3 people from my town that died. The missus gasped in shock at the news reports as she recognised the older woman, Lorraine, from the cafe she goes into. Very sad events so close to Christmas.
