Yesterday i went out on a limb and upgraded my 350D for a 5D, i'm so happy, i've had a good play with it when i haven't been working and the results are certainly pleasing. Full frame is amazing, i feel like i'm using my old film SLR because 24mm is wide again

I'm sure everyone knows all the details so i won't bore you ;) just show one of the many pics i took yeaterday. Taken with my 24-70L + polariser and just resized in CS2 IIRC :)

Beautifully sharp photo. Great colours and very tranquil scene. I may have been tempted to crop some of the grass in the foreground so it obeyed the "rule of thirds".

Welcome to the 5D club, there's quite a few of us now on this forum.
Great shot by the way, but I agree with the previous post I would have crop the grass a bit. Hope you don't mind me mentioning it.

Nice :)

I saw someone mention the 5D was good at high iso. I'd be interested to see a low light shot at high iso if you have one.

Thanks guys, the concencus seems to be the grass needs to be cropped, i'll have a play :)

Robert, i'll try to get one :)

Great photo - shows how good the 24-70 is as well :)

very nice. great colours and scope

I have a few shots taken at ISO1600 on Flickr here http://www.flickr.com/photos/rayfin/sets/72157594313861151/

These are all full frame (no cropping) and the full size image is available so you can see the noise at 100%. All the shots were handheld at between 1/30s and 1/50s (no flash) with the 24-105f4 L. I'd only had the 5D a couple of days so was just experimenting. Everything else is auto (including WB). The rooms at the Royal Armouries can be a bit dim but I was pleased with the technical results as far as the ISO performance is concerned. I haven't tried ISO3200 yet!

I upgraded from a 350D to a 5D about 2 weeks ago. FANTASTIC camera!!!!! Wish I'd upgraded earlier.

Spent last week in the Lakes (in the RAIN!!!!). Didn't get to use the 5D as much as I would have liked.

Here is one of the shots form when it wasn't raining. No post processing only resized to post on here.

It certainly is a very nice jump up isn't it :D

gorgeous picture too, i like it but like me your horizon seems to be sloping ;)

although I've a very excellent camera I do ponder the 5D from time to time...
mehh - maybe one day.

Erm yeah, was sinking into the sand on the shore line when I took it.

(lame excuse, but that's what I'm sticking to )
