5D Sensor Cleaning Help

I had some grease smears on my 5D sensor after using the Arctic Butterfly, so i got some Orange Sensor Swabs and a bottle of VDust Plus and followed the instructions to the letter using 3-4 drops of solution across the end of the swab, but its leaving smears across the sensor, what am i doing wrong? any advice please.
 
I use to have this problem using eclipse sometimes, generally found it was because there was too much solution on the swab
 
Yup. Sounds like too much.

I only use one drop.
 
I got exactly the same result using an Arctic butterfly. Doesnt get used any more!!! You just need to keep at it, eventually you will get it all off. Its a pain though, or take it along to somewhere like LCE and get them to do it.

If you are not far from Herts you are welcome to drop it over and I will sort it out for you.

If you are VERY CONFIDENT, use a lint free cloth and some PLASTIC ENDED tweezers to clean it up.. you MAY need to do another wet run to get the crap off the glass.

PM me if you want me to do it for you. I have done over 200 sensors.
 
Same happened to me on the 5D, 1 drop, clean from the edges, couple of times.
Smears gone, used the 'Flutterby', no probs with it.
