5D mkiii future prices?

Haha, just mark my words :)

The 1DX2 is a given and they can't really release a 5D4 first and out-perform the current 1DX.

I reckon the 5D4 will get a megapixel bump to around 28mp and the new 65-point AF from the 7D2, not sure what else. The biggest question in my mind is whether it'll be the first FF body with a dual-pixel sensor for video AF.

Even with the Canon "Double Cashback" deals from Wex etc, the UK discounted price for a 5D3 is still £250 more than from the reputable grey sellers like Panamos. £1504 with a "3 year UK warranty" from Panamoz seems like a bargain. I cannot see prices dropping much further any time soon.

Without wishing to stir up the whole grey import thing again, there are many who would choose to pay the extra for a proper UK retail model with the standard Canon warranty rather than a tax-dodging grey import. Down to each individual to choose really.

I should have thought they'd need to improve the 5d4 more than that, tbh from what I've seen apart from a few more custom functions and the wider coverage, which could be partly as a result of it being a smaller sensor, from what I've read they're isn't that much between the 7d2 and 5d3. Having said all this, I can't really see much would tempt me from the 5d3. I think the only improvement many would like is greater dynamic range and cleaner high ISO

They're not all tax dodging...

The 7D2 has a lot of strengths but frankly I can't see it getting near the IQ of a 5D3. I've not used one but the reviews I've read say it's just an incremental step from the original 7D, which I did own for a while and the 5D3 is in a different world to that. All other things being equal, a larger sensor with larger pixels/receptors is going to produce better image quality. It's just basic physics :)

It will be interesting to see what they add to the 5D4. I think it'll be a lot of incremental improvements and nothing that'll lead to me junking my 5D3 for one as soon as it's released.
