Hmmm, if this where true, this would be awesome, but it might just be another false rumour.

:D

IF.. it were true it would be a 1D IV :D

Don't you think? Looks like someone's wish list to me and not a bad wish list I guess.

it does look like a wish list, yeah. The weather sealing is a definite price booster though!
lol
A mini 1d :D

Call Spock button?

There have been rumours about the 5DmkII since august last year that I can remember.

Last time canon had a big cashback on their 5d a lot of people sold off the 5d in anticipation of the 'new model' but alas it did not appear.

I am after a 5d but have until october to get it. I suffer from impatience so lets see how long i can hold out for a mkII or just grap a bargain with the 5d as it is.

My mate was in the same situation, he bought a 5D after both me and his missus said get it now and have the use of it until the new one comes out. He's had it over 12 months now!

*if* a new 5D comes out then you could always sell the 5D and upgrade *if* the spec is a serious upgrade on the older unit.

That would hack a lot of people off if they released that as a spec, specially as there are some specs that even the 1 series dont have ! lol

Is definitely a wish list, some of the features may make it to a new body but unlikley the majority of them will in the near future.

what would be the benefit of the 1d over the 5d with a spec like that?

mind you, everyone said the 450d wouldnt have half that it does because of the 40d

It more than likely is a wishlist, like most of you have said.
And we wont know for sure until Canon say so. :(
i am starting to think they wont bring one out ya know.

Apathy now with the rumour mill and those that fuel it, Canon will release it when it's ready and has sufficient numbers built up to cope with the demand, whenever that is we will find out when they do it :wave:

It wont have Dual Digic III. I thought this was purely for the high speed sector as it could process vast amounts of information at any one time.

To me the 5D has always been about the single shot rate portrait, wedding and landscape genres. A single Digic III processor would suffice in these situations.

Did I read it right in thinking that "Canon" would sub-contract its NR software? That doesn't make sense straight off the bat.

It sounds like a wish list.

Yep I don't think it will have dual Digic IIIs.

I also don't think it will have full weather sealing, will have partial like the 40D (probably more than the 40D, but not fully like the 1Ds).

Those specs are the same as the ones that have been floating around for ages, none of them are actuall 'inside information' from Canon, they are just educated guesses based on previous lines of Canon cameras. It's odvious what the 5D MKII specs will be, most people just need to be told that it's inside information for them to listen properly.

Also remember that the 5D MKIII is designed to be an affordable Full-Frame DSLR so still won't be in the same league as a 1Ds.

Will probably have those features, can't wait until it's announced, will definately be getting my hands on one :D
