I currently use a 50D and a 30D. Although I do a lot of motorsport these days I also shoot a load of other stuff - macros, landscape, still life - and pretty much stuff you meet walking around. A proposed trip to Namibia is also positively influencing this decision.
I'm in a position where I can look into a 5D Mk1 - this would be in addition to rather than replacing current kit.
Being an "older" model I'm worried that it may be dated in comparison to more modern cameras - is this a real factor or does the wow factor of full frame-i-ness outweight this? I know it won't have the focus speed or burst rate of the 50D.
Really interested to hear current thoughts on the Mk1 - any comments much appreciated.

Still a hugely capable camera for the things you want to do with it.
