550D problem. No continuous shooting in AEB?

Yes
According to the manual, when shooting Auto Exposure Bracketting in continuous shooting mode, the camera should take the 3 bracketed exposures automatically with just one press of the shutter.

My 550D doesn't seem to do this, and I have to manually press the shutter 3 times to get the 3 different exposures.

Can anyone else with a 550D tellme if they can get the camera to take the 3 shots automatically, and if so how?

Many thanks.

I have a 50d but i don't think there will be much difference in the settings.
Set your AEB to the reqiured amount and press set(are you sure you have press set)if not it will not register the change. You should see the 3 little squares on your info screen once it is set.
Go to your AF/drive and select continous shooting and you should be good to go.

Yep unless they changed it from the 500D you still need to set your camera to continuous drive after setting it to bracket, you then just hold the shutter down for all 3 exposures.

Thank you Vince and Little John,

Ah, so you have to hold the shutter down, I've tried that now and it works thanks.

I thought you should be able to just press the shutter once, but it seems in continuous shooting you have to hold it down.

I was thinking this could introduce some movement.

I use mirror lock up quite often and it seems with this, continuous shooting doesn't work and you have to press the shutter 6 times to get the 3 exposures, once for mirror lock up and once for shutter for each exposure.

Is this right? or is there a way round this?

Thanks,

Martin
