Hi guys,

I am after a 550D / 600D battery grip. I had one before from ebay but it didn't display the battery menu/level.

Other members have purchased ones from ebay but have the battery menu/level display correctly.

The official BG-E8 grip is over 100 pounds without the batteries - and it doesn't really make any difference to picture quality. But if you guys say it's really worth the extra I suppose I can see what I can do.

Does anyone know of a good one to get, which has all the battery functions as the original BG-E8 does?

Thanks very much for any advice.

Cheers,

Laurence

I got mine from an Amazon marketplace seller. Grip, 2 batteries and remote release for £35. An absolute bargain. Definitely recommend.

Thanks Craig, does it show battery level and the battery menu?

I found a new "Genuine" BG-E8 in a Canon box on ebay for £80, it does look real but you never know with ebay.

It doesn't have any indications on the grip but the body info still works. Very impressed with the quality. Proceed with caution. Do a search on here for fake grips on ebay.

MPB Photographic have a s/h one here. I have used them for camera bodies, lenses and a battery grip and their service is top notch.

Hope you got my email about mine. You've obviously seen the same one on ebay that I brought. Excellent grip.

I just paid a bit more and got one from ebay again, modchild recommended this one to me as his shows level, and the menu etc and he has used it daily without issue.

But thank you everyone for your recommendations. The one above from Amazon is very cheap! :)
