Yes
I used my 55-200 the other day on my D3.
I left it on full frame mode as i was switching about between that and a 24-70.

But when i went to upload the pics down most of the there is this Dark sides.
See below.
Was this because i hadnt changed it to DX mode?
Or is there a problem with the lens.
I was maybe thinking this was softness down the sides?

This is one thing other thing i was speaking to a other tog and he was using a 80-200,He said to me that he and friends had a lot of problems with there 70-200 f2.8s like the aperture failing,It failling apart etc.
i have the 24-70 and the quality is fantastic so i was just expecting that to be the same.?
Is this true???

Went and posted this in the wrong section!
Mod could you please move it too Kit

Sounds like you were talking to Colin from Power-Images  I know he had problems with his 70-200 and ended up changing to an 80-200 AF-S. I think the other chap, Ian, still uses a 70-200 though.

If you want a shot of my 70-200 up at Knockhill sometime just let me know, I'll be back there once the racing proper starts.

The banding looks like the result of using a DX lens in FX mode....

It was a guy from Power Images...
The car in question I was in for most of the day but due to some sickness issue I sat out the last session and got some photos.:gag::thinking:

Nothing done to that photo except changed to jpg

It's just light fall off at the corners and I get it slightly with my 70-200mm VR when I shoot at f/2.8 although it doesn't bother me in the slightest as it is a very quick fix in Lightroom which takes seconds. I'm afraid I can't help with the 55-200mm.
