52 photos of Goudhurst.

Ok, so we are already week 12 on Saturday..

At some point in the next few months I will get a DSLR but for now I am going to push on with my outdated yet extremely reliable little Kodak Zoom and take an average of one photo for every week in the year including catch up photos. All taken within 5 Miles of the Goudhurst Crossroads which is just 200 yards from my home (Google Maps 51.112976,0.458921). I am going to try and include photographs of things that I would not normally take a second glance at.

Welcome aboard Mark. Don't worry that no one appears to have posted yet... it's very very busy on the 52's this year. I'm sure people will be around soon.

That's a great start to the 52, some lovely textures and colours in that old Stonework.

Looks like it's an interesting area... is the crossroads where the plain, meets the high st, meets balcombes hill and north road ? There appears to be opportunities applenty around there.

Hello John.
I am not at all concerned. I am (selfishly) doing this as much for my benefit as anyone who would like to see the area in which i live through my eyes.

That's the very crossroads, nice little bakers / cafe there too - maybe ill photograph it...

*This is my first EVER photo taken for public display purposes (numero uno)*

I am hoping as i go through the 52 and upgrade my camera & skills that everyone including me will see a steady improvement in my photographic skills.

Hi Mark, Welcome to the 52s.

This sound like a very interesting project, and I'm looking forward to getting to know the area through your eyes - and camera. :)

I like the opening shot, and no doubt, a landmark. The stonework is beautiful and mellow, and there's enought interest in the sky to balance it. It would be interesting to see the view of the front with what looks to be a very impressive stained glass window.

Have fun with your project.

Jean

Hi Mark
I only started my 52 last month and already I have become addicted
Great shot of the church - good colours and texture.

Sorry I've not dropped in for the past couple of weeks Mark.

The church is well shot... controlling the exposure well. Nicely done

Lovely shot of the cat, the angle of his head is very good.. nice and sharp and the lighting works on this one... not sure on the guitar in the background...

The sign works, I was going to say something about the DOF, but as it's a P&S at f/2.8 already... Anyway I like it that the High Weald has the landscape trail, and the Weald only has an Ape trail  (sorry...)

Love the hut... great textures etc... again the DOF could do with being smaller, but you're not going to manage it with the camera you're using. It looks like a partial desaturation has been done... it works.
