52 From Dark Star - 52/52 Texture :) (Phew!)

Very well done John... lovely neat handwriting... does that win the prize for the shot that took the longest in the 52 to set up ...

It's clearly on theme, the lens adds to the shot as Jean said, providing context.

Well done on self and organised.....both bang on theme and well taken

Thanks John - the lens was a last minute addition - the list just looked daft on its own - and yes it took a while to scribble that lot :)

Well done on self and organised.....both bang on theme and well taken

Thanks Jon much appreciated! :)

Good god I've finally caught up :) and got one in on time :)

This rack of bikes looked confusing :) to my eye!

Lovely bit of focus going on there John...

Better fitting Organised... me thinks...

But a great shot is a great shot so you get a  from me...

It's getting late, I'm tired and probably shouldn't have had a third glass of wine ... but I can't work out how you've done that. What lens/aperture did you use?

btw - it's excellent and has scored another Confusion - ie, I'm Confused.

Well done on catching up and getting this in on time. ;)

Jean

Cheers Marcus - much appreciated :) Maybe I was confused about organised :D

Thanks Jean - the lens is my walkabout :) Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS

This was 1/320th at f4 at 180mm - its a damn heavy walkabout though :)

Going for that 4th glass? ;) :D

I don;t think the bikes are particularly confused but it is a very nice picture in its own right.

I think it's a great picture John  the DOF works really well. It doesn't look to confused though I'm afraid.

Thanks both :)

I saw the confusion as the tangle of wheels as it is viewed from that perspective :) Confusion is in the eye of the beholder I guess :D

Wow, that looks very sharp to me. Nice work.
That is a nice walk about lens!

This is a cracker actually! I can't quite figure out what bike that flamin light is attached to  so it gets a  from me! Cool photo too. I tried something like this recently, but it didn't turn out nearly as good

Don't selll yourself short, John. You've produced not one but two, very different sps - both good, both with something special. Now, no more of this 'not my forte' stuff or Jill and I will be sending the boys round. :bat: :)

Jean

I saw your comment after this post and reckon you'd be in less trouble from the boys than if Fi, Jean and I came round :nono:

2 great self portraits, and about time I saw what you looked like :D As you saw, I escaped showing my mug for the 6th time this year (alright, 1 was behind a mask and another was pretending to be Capt Jack) I especially like the peephole view - yet another vote for quirky.

Organised - well set up and processed and does what it says on the tin. Mind, I like Jean's suggestion that you get the rest of the themes from Simon (but then again maybe I don't want to know when we are so close to the end ) The lens makes the shot

Confusion - Crisp shot with a great DoF but doesn't leave me feeling confused. But look on the bright side, you've caught up this week.

just catching up and you have 2 great shots there in imo.

I love organised and the hand writing really sets it off :D

maybe an even tighter crop would have worked to create a more confusing abstract...taking out the top and left hand side....

or maybe if you'd got lown down and got a shot through all the spokes....

definitely a shot in there....so half marks for a photo opportunity spot ;)

full marks for exposure and focus though :)

Organised : It's official. You're definitely better at calligraphy than me  :)
Obvious shot or not, it's well thought out. Yet more nice use of DOF from you and nice composition with the lens in shot.

Confused : I think there might be some evidence of a crow bar in there, but it's still a lovely shot. Well spotted and well executed.

Thanks folks - especially for the catch ups :) Maybe that shot only confused me :D

One shot here only :) I had an idea and it worked for me! Okay some flaws I know but I'm chuffed to bits with this one :)

Music

Chuffed????? You should be over the moon, John :D

It definitely hits Top C for me and is candidate for the 52ers
Top 10 of the year award.:clap: :thumbs:

Jean

Jean thank you so much :) Glad you like it :D

First well done your up to date...

now what a cracking Music shot John... in fact may I say it's quite BRILLIANT...:clap::clap:

One of your very best shots for me...Superb all the way...:clap::clap:

Marcus thats really appreciated thanks :)

Wow!!!... I see... Album Cover.... That's a Strat..ospheric shot John :D... (sorry ;))... very well done and processed.

But it's not a harmonica on the Beach Boys.... What happened to that ?

Ah you beat me to the harmonica shot John :) and the excitment of dangling my strat off our washing line (by the machine heads ) was too much to resist!

As for albums covers it was only when you mentioned that I remembered this one: Cover

That is an absolutely fabulous shot John :clap::clap:

What a fertile mind you've got :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Absolutely fantastic :clap::clap:

Thats a lot of clapping Jill - Thanks!:)

Like it - great idea....good PP skills....

Cheers Jeff - surprisingly little PP work actually!

I cloned out the washing line from which the strat was suspended and beefed up the image with a bit of HDR :)

Thanks :D

Excitement... you call that excitement....... I reckon your's is better but can't for the life of me thing of a suitable album to put it on though.

That is one fantastic shot - I love it :clap::clap:

I thought at first that you had combined two exposures - you are so lucky to have such a perfect background to hand. Also that it wasn't pouring with rain all the time!

I would just clone out that stray string from the peg box... then you could turn it into a greetings card or book cover or large poster or....

Wow stunning stuff John

Cheers Ruth :)

Thanks Tracer - I was lucky indeed - I was lucky it never fell off the washing line too !

Agree with the string comment....I will play again later and maybe, just maybe get a poster printed :)

Absolutely Amazing !!!!!

You have every right to be chuffed to bits with that John. It's just brilliant :notworthy:

Thanks so much Sarah :) I had a feeling music would be a good one :)

Now PAIN....thats different!

Excellent shot John!

You've given me a few ideas for shots of my own now. Best put the thinking cap on as how best to execute them

Organised, lovely! Bang on, nice idea and lovely writing!

Confusion, INDEED!

Music, WOW. Nuff said!

Very clever John and fits the theme really well, the fringing around the bottom of the guitar is my only, slight, gripe.

Look forward to seeing them Conor and thanks :)

Thanks for that catch up :) Still amazed that people think my writing is neat :D

Cheers Mark and I agree with your gripe ;)! More care next time!

Pain - ok ok so its French for Bread :) Its my only cop out this year :)

4206479793_80096a2d0c_o.jpg

If you're going for a 'cop out' shot it's as well to make it a stunner - and you have. The colours are really excellent - that bread looks good enough to eat. :D The dof is nicely judged and the textures of the crust and the tea towel (?) are brilliant.:clap::clap:

I have got not just one but 2 small niggles, though. Cutting the bread at an angle would give another aspect to the compostion - this is just opinion and not based on any kind of knowledge.

And, secondly - I bet you've already scoffed the fromage and the large glass of vin rouge that went with that yummy looking Pain? :D

Jean

what a crowbar shot...

I'm sorry not liking this one much, way to tight on the crop for me...

and the focus...Mmmmm...not really liking that much...:(

for a fill in shot it ok...but your Music shot was superb so I'll let you off a bad week...
