50mm Reversed and Macro Tubes

Hi All,
Just wondering i am thinking of buying a cheap manual 50mm prime and then reversing it for macro. Now if i also got some macro tubes for it can anyone give me any idea on how close i would be able to get.

Any pictures would be great i just really wanna see how close this would get me in.

Thanks Steve, to be honest you can get some tubes on ebay for £20 and a reverse ring on ebay for around £3. I will upload a picture of my setup on flickr in the next few min.
