do you think our cameras will drasticly drop in price due to the arrival of new 60d coming out?

personally i dont think they will as i dont see the 60d as a thret, as said on another thread, the 50d is the last of a 'era'??

its just that i bought mine only a couple of months ago and hoping im not in for a big loss as i would like to sell soon and get a 7d.

your thoughts..

(obviously lowering 'new' shop prices will controll the second hand market)

I dont think it drastically will, there isnt really a replacement for the 50D now (as they have repositioned the 60D in the marketplace. at the end of the day the 50D will hold its value just as well, after all the 40D still commands reasonably second hand prices.

its already sitting at 599 in the uk in some places, cant see it dropping any further before they stop making it. However i reckon it will still retain alot of its value the same way the 40d did.

I took mine to London camera exchange to upgrade to the 5D MKII, but all he wanted to give me was £300, it's less than a year old, so i laughed in his face and walked out!

Just got mine 2nd hand

I had the one prior to that(a 400 d) for 3 years so I am hoping that the 50 will last me for a lot longer.

TBH not too worried about the price as I am planning to keep it for quite a while:thumbs:

I shall be keeping mine long term and then it will become a spare when i upgrade to FF. Wont be for a long while yet though (years not months).
