50d cr2 files not opening in adobe elements 6

Hi,

I have used adobe elements 6 with my canon 400d since buying both from new about 2 years ago. Always shoot in cr2 + jpeg and both files always opened up ok.

I recently purchased a Canon 50 d and for some reason elements only shows the jpg and dosnt recognise the cr2 files although they load and open ok in adobe cs4.

Any ideas as to how I can get elements to open the 50d cr2s would be greatly appreciated.

From what i believe you cant get ele6 to read 50d raws. I tried and couldnt get it either. No support available, sorry.

I am not sure which Ver of ACR was the first to open CR2 have you tried updating it?
I know you can not get the newest ACR on older Ver of PS guess same for Elements

I have updated elements and i think i updated the eos utility.

You need ACR 5.1 which should work with Elements 6

Spoke too soon. I just found it only half worked! I can now copy the cr2 and jpg's from adobe bridge into elements and both files now open ok. When I upload from card reader, elements only sees jpg's only.

So I had to upload to adobe bridge first as this sees cr2's and thejpeg's.
