well it looked to me that the one nearest the camera actually stopped ( although a bit late ) so i would blame the one not in shot ( to start with )
I'd say that the Honda is a fault there as the Ford was stationary well before the collision and also the Honda was moving at quite some speed compared to the Ford suggesting as it didn't react in time that it was going too fast
So no don't see it being a 50/50 split at all
The 1st car stopped & the other reversed into it.
.............................................. as he was in a "Rush" to get the kids to school.................
All insurers will load your next premium if you were involved in an accident even if it's not your fault. Apparently statistically you're likely to be involved in another accident. When looking for quotes, some insurance companies will ask if you have been involved in any fault or non fault accidents in the last 3 or 5yrs, whilst others just ask if you have made claims in the previous 3 or 5yrs.Thing was though, even though I have protected no-claims & after receiving a letter from my insurers stating that no claim was paid, when renewal time came the year after......they tried to put a small premium on the renewal because of the initial claim! The cheeky sods also said it was an incident so would have to be declared if I was looking around for another insurer!
I agree with everyone else, other drivers fault.

The other guy offered to repair the the damaged as his partner works in a garage, after taking photos etc etc a couple of days later he said best go through insurance (my preference). The damage is quite a bit really as just taken it to a garage and they said straight away replacement tailgate, damage to offside quarter panel plus the lights on tailgate and quarter panel need replacing.
We are both insured with the same company...anyway get a call from the insurance and straight away they said would I accept a 50 / 50 split. I said no as I was not at fault and the other guy originally offered to repair the car. The woman also said that the other guy said it was 50 / 50 as we reversed into each other. He also told them that he was not looking at the time and even she said well if he wasn't looking how would he know if I was reversing or not at the time. She also noted that I mentioned I have CCTV so they are going to take a look now.
Quite funny that you both have the same insurer, but even so, tell them to s0d off about accepting a 50/50 knock for knock claim.
If they get a bit ar5ey, (which is unlikely tbh with the CCTV) tell them you're going to contact the http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/motor-insurance.html
When I did this & asked my insurer for a detailed response in writing & explaining their reasoning for wanting me to accept a portion of the blame, they eventually sent me a letter confirming that ultimately no claim had been made against my policy.
Might be wrong but think the FOS no longer deals with consumers, it's now the FCA that would need to be complained too

It may well have gone down, but it will still have cost more than if you hadn't been involved in an accident. My insurance went down the following two years after a non fault accident.

So as you both have the same insurer... They have to pay for everything to both cars regardless of blame. (Assuming you are both fully comp, or at the least the at-fault party is).
But by "offering" you both knock for knock, the can load BOTH premiums next year... Sneaky.![]()

It should be so easy shouldn't it?
Update - A good one
CCTV has been reviewed by both handlers and the 3rd party is liable.
