The translucent diffuser is very useful outdoors, for diffusing hard sunlight
And the black absorber is invaluable both in the studio and outdoors, for creating a dark edge, absorbing light and intensifying shadows

you can use all of them if you want to, simply unzip the case and turn it inside out
I have one myself, great little piece of kit that folds up to fit snugly in my bag
not tried the translucent yet - not been any sun
