Want 28 or 32....24 would be too small at normal scaling for Dev work probably.

But then 3x LG IPS 1080p are probably better value....

I'd want a 4k screen with 1:1 pixels that are visible, not a 4k screen which is used to anti-alias characters. So 4k for me is 30+ inches for a monitor (the pixel density I get at 27" and 2560 x 1440 is about right). So that's 2 of the 32" ones please - around £5k for the pair by all accounts. You can never have too much screen estate you know....

I don't see much appeal for 24", other than higher DPI if you work with a loupe. 28" will show up a bit later - that is the only catch. 32" is well out pocket for me  but would be damn nice to have.

Ironically the best value is staying with my u2711, but I wouldn't mind a change once they release rev3 or 4 of the new ones. Very high wattage of CCFL panel is a nice incentive to upgrade.

I was reading this last night, very impressive. Certainly never buying a mac display again.

There are rumours apple will release a pretty similar copy of these. They could be worse or better, and most likely more expensive - so probably not for me.

very interesting I assume 4K means that it would display 4000 pixels on the longest size
so photos should look awesome as good as prints or am I misunderstanding how it works
the file size from my camera is 5184 by 3456:)

I thought when you said big, you meant big as in 65"

Does anyone make a decent 4:3 monitor these days?

I would love to have 3x 4:3 monitors, two monitors just cricks my neck as I'm never sitting facing straight forward.

do what I do and have one of them facing you and the other off to the side. It helps, because you naturally tend to focus more on one screen anyway, and use the other for secondary information.

Think I will go for one nice IPS widescreen, then 1 or 2 cheap LCD 4:3 alongside.

i popped into my local sony centre yesterday and they had a 65" ( i think) 4k tv on display, it was pretty stunning! the depth if image was outstanding but then so was the price at £4999!

As the UltraHD tv spec is still being written, I'd wait to see what's in it before buying.
