450D Help Needed - Transferring Files to PC

Help!

I've tried a new SD card this evening, and it won't work in my card reader.

I've hooked up the lead that came with the 450 to the PC to see if i can access the images.

I shot in Raw+Jpeg, and when i try and get the images via the cable it is reading all the images as Jpegs.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Is the new card SD HC and the reader only SD? That caught me out at first as the high capacity cards needed a new card reader...

That's odd - it should be able to read the files as they are. Are you using the software that came with the camera as well, or just opening a filer window on the camera as if it were a card reader?

Yeah its a HC one. Arse :lol:

I was doing the latter. Ill install the camera software and see if i can retrieve them that way.
 
You may not have anything on your computer able of reading RAW files, this may be why you can only read the JPGS. Just an idea.

I notice you said new SD, have you had it working with a old SD?

My PC does Raw files, i did some about 30 minutes ago using a different SD card :lol:

Its deffo because its a SD HC card. I didnt realise there was a difference.
