430ex speedlite broken .

Through my own fault i now have a broken 430ex. It will work but i cant use any settings at all incl ttl.I have previously used it with my 580ex and canon st2 transmitter. I have made a few enquiries and from the prices i have been quoted and they were only for looking at it ,im thinking is it worth trying to get it fixed or should i buy another flash.Maybee used as i dont use it a lot.My question is if i buy another one do i go for another 430 or is there another flash that would be compatable with my 580 and the st2 transmitter.Or does anyone know of a cheap repairer in or around lancashire. If you do decide to go down the 3rd party route take a look at the Yongnuo YN565EX, about a hundred quid and loads of functions.

Repair wise, drop it in at Mathers in Bolton, they'll get it quoted on before any work is done.

Thanks micheal ,not too far away from me. Last quote i got was 96 quid min just to look at it and before any work done. Not worth that for that model i dont think.

They've always done right by me.
Phone them first, they may be able to tell you if it's worth taking it in.
They may accept repairs via post. Just a thought.

That seems an expensive quote. I use Fixation they've fixed my 580 twice for around £90 returned.

The quote i got was from a place at stoke on trent and yes i thought it was way too high and only to look at it that didnt include any parts etc . But i droped it off today at mathers in bolton. They seem a nice bunch of guys and said they would get in touch next week.Thanks again micheal ill let you know the result.
