No
Received my 40D from Dixons today and the box seemed to have been passed around, if you what I mean. The power cord for the battery charger was just lying on top without packed in a plastic bag. When seen through the viewfinder found a small spot near the center and south west focusing points.

This is the 2nd time I will be returning the product. Last time when I had bought from Jessops, the plastic battery base was missing in the box.

I was wondering if every dealer is simply shuffling around returned pieces to the next customer and is there a scarce of 40D in the market?

I got mine from Warehouse Express the other day, concerned me that the cashback sticker thing that goes over the opening was split and that there was no other seal, so in effect it was open, everything in side was propperly packed, however. Did seem a little odd that there was no plastic sticky protector on the screen though, but the screen was spottless. Did anyone elses come with them little film protectors on?

Mine did not Jimmy :( I am getting a bit annoyed with these f*****g dealers now :bang:

Could you go and collect from the store?

Mine was opened too, but that was done in the shop as the guy double checked the contents. No film on the LCD tho, don't think any of my other bodies had one either

Mine didn't but everything was packed in perfectly, maybe they come without one?

I am starting to believe that they come without one, the film on the screen I mean.

Did that with Jessops and had to return the camera the last time.

Will try again with Dixons in store.

Dixons don't have stores any more...

Mine was opened too but they had taken the lens out of a kit lens box and were selling these as body only.

I think the lesson to learn from this is buy from a proper camera specialist shop, not a box shifter. If you buy from a decent shop they will open the box, with you present, to ensure everything is there, no missing bits, and that it hasn't been damaged. All before you even hand over the credit card... But in this age of "Where can I buy x the cheapest" these little things don't seem to matter to many. Personally I'd rather pay that little bit extra, and get the service.

Problem is nowadays that stores can't afford to keep large stocks of cameras. So they tend to sell display models. Thinking of it doesn't that make the cameras second hand? I won't accept a item that's been in a display case or the box has been opened.
