Hey guys, just brought me a 40d (love it):D, its mint so i looking to get a lcd screen protector for it, you guys know of anywhere i can get one from and what kind? i keep hearing alot about, well i think its GGS orGSG :shrug:

Hi there. Yes, it's GGS, loads about which a quick google will find. I have a Giottos on my 50D, but the GGS is better value as it is cheaper and comes with a protector for the top LCD as well. The Giottos was simple to fit, and although I got it a little crooked first time, a little warm (not hot!) air from a hair dryer loosened the adhesive for a second fitting.The GGS should be as simple to fit also.

There are also lots of stick on cut to fit film covers out there. Yes you've got to spend a bit of time making it fit, but much cheaper than the model specific versions.

Not trying to hijack this thread but could anyone viewing this advise some reliable places to see the full range of GGS protectors?
Also, anyone know if these are of Chinese origin?

The 40D comes already fitted with a screen protector. It's a piece of hard transparent plastic that's fitted in front of the LCD screen itself, and it's easily and cheaply replaced if necessary.

So are you looking for something to protect the protector?

Hi Andy, I'm also on the lookout for a nice 40D for xmas.:thumbs: Could I ask where you got yours? I've been recommended MPB Photographic but none in stock at the mo. Am slightly apprehensive about fleabay for expensive items.:shrug:

Hey there scuba, well i saw a few on www.eos-magazine.com , which i was very tempted to buy, but then i went onto ebay just to see what they were selling for, and noticed the one i have now, it was perfect for me as the chap selling it lived 4 miles from me ( bonus ) so i gave him a ring and arranged to go around and have a look, did abit of haggling and hey presto got a right good bargain :D and its absolutly mint and the lens too:) just keep a look out scuba and something will come along, defo recommend www.eos-magazine.com

Good luck

Andy:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

GGS, from eBay, posted from China, easy to fit, good value for money and has saved me on more than 1 occasion

Would have preferred to buy locally but no-one was coming close on prices when I bought.
